Jason and Lisa’s downtown Calgary engagement shoot
August 29, 2011
We met Jason and Lisa in the early evening at Eau Claire Market, in downtown Calgary. Within an hour of meeting them, we experienced warming sun, dark threatening clouds, a deluge of rain and huge pelting hail. We were able to take refuge and enjoy some sushi during the worst of the storm, which was a great opportunity to get to know this fun couple a little better. And, when we emerged into the calm, clean, and much colder, post storm Calgary, we found endless photography potential using steaming breath, reflective puddles and colourful fountains. Lanny and I are known to go to extensive measures, to get “the shot”. This may include things like climbing trees, lying down in muddy puddles, climbing to the summit of the mountain and/or paddling a dingy into the middle of a lake. However, Lanny took the cake in this particular photo shoot. He climbed into the frigid cold fountain, got completely soaked, only to decide that it wasn’t worth the risk of getting our camera equipment water damaged. And, oh yeah… the air temperature was only about 10 degrees (celsius). Although, we may have missed out on the “ultimate shot” (from the perspective of inside the fountain), I think we got some pretty neat shots below. Enjoy!

Canmore Family Day Snow Portraits
March 2, 2011
We had tones of fun capturing beautiful faces and genuine smiles (and a few pouts) during our Family Day Snow Portraits Special. We packed 10 families into one full day of outdoor winter photography. We scouted our river side location the day before our shoots in blowing snow and frigid -25 degree air. So we were delighted to awaken on Family Day to blue bird skies and much more reasonable temperatures. Despite the super short 20 minute sessions, we managed some pretty cool shots. First up were C & J and their adorable twins…

Swanky Bike
January 27, 2011
Biking, for some, is much more than just a pastime or leisure activity; It is nothing less than a passion, and a way of life. The ultimate symbol of this passion is, of course, the bicycle. And, for some there is nothing more beautiful than their bike – their baby!
Passion and creative expression collided in our most recent assignment, in which we were commissioned to take artistic images of D’s most prized possession (after his wife and daughter, of course)… his bike. A collage of the images are to be featured in their newly renovated rec room. Printed on metallic paper and mounted on a thin sheet of aluminium, these artistic prints showcase stunning lines of symmetry, shiny componentry and the simple beauty of D’s bike. They not only add a unique and interesting element of design, they symbolize one’s passion.

Leadstone – Corporate Calgary Photography
January 12, 2011
We recently had the privilege of photographing Leadstone Group Inc.‘s dynamic team of professionals for their brand new website (built and designed by Cornerstone Technologies). We set out to capture the essence of their team and the consulting and advisory services that they provide. What we saw through our lenses and interplay was a vibrant team of personable and approachable individuals, each exuding an unflinching confidence in themselves and a genuine excitement about the work they do. Notwithstanding minor challenges (read: over-zealous security staff), we managed to roll with the punches and pull off some fine images that tell the story of this super fun team and the mind-blowing business results they they achieve. The shoot took place in various business locations throughout downtown Calgary, but finished on a much more casual note. Our quest for “something more casual” led us to the legendary Unicorn pub, where we enjoyed a pint or two and photographed their smiles getting bigger and bigger. Thank you to Mark and Cameron for incorporating our images so nicely into a well designed website. And thanks Kevin, Amanda, James, Jay and Ashley for being so much fun! We’re really looking forward to working with you all again in the near future.

Brianna and Kevin
January 7, 2011
Brianna and Kevin have to be one of the cutest couples we have ever met. Engaged in November and home for the holidays, we managed to squeeze in a quick engagement shoot before they headed back to Kingston, where they are attending law school. They were full of bounding energy, huge smiles and, most importantly, tons of love. Brianna and Kevin, here is at sneak peek of a few of your fabulous photos. We will have your gallery up soon!

Winter Love
January 3, 2011
The marriage of Jeff and Karen took place mere days after a cold spell that saw temperatures as low as minus thirty degrees celsius. Thankfully, the weather warmed up for the day of their nuptials and they got married in ‘balmy’ conditions of -10 degrees. Their wedding took place at Camp Horizon, near Bragg Creek, Alberta. The beautiful candle lit ceremony was complete with one of the cutest flower girls the world has ever seen. The gorgeous Karen was an absolute trooper, braving the sub-zero temperatures in her custom-made, strapless, polkadot gown, all in the name of good photography. Jeff and Karen, thanks for including us on your special day. You made our job easy with your authentic smiles and bright energy. Here are a few of our favourite images. We’ll have your on-line gallery up and ready for viewing within the next few days.
