Malissa and Justin’s music themed engagement session
May 26, 2011
This has got to be one of our all time favourite engagement shoots. You may remember Malissa and Justin from our wedding contest a few months back. They didn’t win first prize (a full wedding photography package) but, they did win a gift certificate, which they put towards an engagement session with Two-Mann Tent Photography. They are a really unique couple, who’s love for music brought them together. Malissa works for a radio station and Justin’s band entered their annual ‘local band competition’. The rest is history. In order to incorporate their passion for music, we decided to do their shoot at the Cantos Music Foundation, in Calgary. Malissa has a friend that was able to get us into this stunning museum for a few hours of shooting, complete with our very own tour guide (thanks Brandon). What an amazing space!!! We were so excited about the photography potential, with hundreds of gorgeous grand pianos, gold leafed pianos, theatre organs, speaker stacks, one-of-a-kind instruments, amazing lighting, and a truly in-love couple. We could have easily spent the whole day there. Malissa & Justin, here are a few of our favourite shots.

The Madan Family – Canmore Family Photographer
May 24, 2011
The beautiful Madan family have their hands full with 3 1/2 year old “I” and four month old twins “G” & “V”. It was a coordinated effort capturing these images in between feedings, diaper changes, lots of spitting up and napping. In the end we had about 45 minutes in which all the kids were “content”. Their dark, almond shaped eyes made them perfect little photography subjects. Enjoy!

And the winner is…
May 16, 2011
WOW, the last month has been an unbelievable ride. You may remember the contest we launched about a month ago; It was an amazing opportunity for engaged couples to win high-end wedding photography coverage from Two-Mann Tent. The contest is now said and done and we can finally breath again. As a result of every contestants’ amazing efforts, we awarded not one wedding photography package, but TWO. Furthermore, we issued over $8000 worth of gift certificates. The 2+ weeks of voting that took place (in order to determine the ultimate winners) was a roller coaster ride from the start. Within 24-hours of the contest launch, the leading couple had over 200 votes. The following 17 days were utter voting mayhem and we could barely take the suspense. To give you an idea of what it was like, here is a direct e-mail quote from one of our contestants:
“…you should see what we’re going through over here, i’ll be impressed if Becky doesn’t keel over when this is done. We’ve got calls and emails and twitter accounts and blogs and we’re trying to find friends with the most friends, friends in other time zones to keep the momentum going, other countries, hahaha, it’s been nuts! I kinda feel like I’ve learned a lot though, about social media, and in particular how it relates to advertising and organizing people. Anyway, may the best or luckiest or nicest or whatever team win, we’re going go all out and see what we can pull off over the next couple days.”
With less than 12 hours to go, Duane & Becky and Kevin & Brianna were leapfrogging with well over 800 votes each. Brianna & Kevin were the eventual winners with one vote shy of 900.
We would now like to introduce our winning couples. We spent yesterday evening meeting with them and taking a few fun, light-hearted photographs to share with you. Please note, Asif and Noorin, who received 3rd place ($750) were unable to make it to the photo shoot. We look forward to meeting them and capturing their smiling faces at a later date.
First prize awarded to Kevin and Brianna (foreground) and Duane & Becky. Congrats guys. Love Brianna’s gorgeous red hair. Apparently ‘red heads have more fun’ which is going to make for some awesome wedding photos! Brianna and Kevin are getting married in the spring of 2012 in Calgary.
Becky and Duane are having a big Kananaskis bush party for their wedding. Can’t wait to join in the fun and capture this couple’s beautiful spirit.
In addition to receiving second place ($1000), Megan receives an award for the best leap-froger. Look at those mid-air poses! Keith did his best not to look scared. We’re psyched to be travelling to Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, BC to shoot Megan and Keith’s wedding next summer.

Hello World!
May 1, 2011
Welcome to the exciting world of Two-Mann Tent Photography! We are Lanny Mann and Erika Jensen. Our passion for photography was born several years ago amid glistening peaks and billowy icefields. We’ve always loved exploring the wildest places on Earth, venturing deep into the remote corners of our planet, in search of beauty, adventure, and timeless images. We used to live from one adventure to the next. Life was good. And then, our world got flip-turned upside down. Along came a baby and thus began the biggest adventure of our lives. Fast forward 2 years and we now have two litle Manns; Madelyn (3) and Timmy (1). The resulting deluge of life-changing events has taught us to see beauty in entirely new ways. We still love exploring the outdoors, especially with our little ones, but we now see that the real beauty in this world, exists within relationships. In photographing people, we’ve discovered a whole world of emotion, passion, and love. We love capturing these relationships, whether between father and son, husband and wife, or a mother and her unborn baby. Most recently, we’ve set our professional sights on bringing new meaning to the beauty and artistry of wedding photography. We are based out of Canmore, Alberta in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Our background in landscape/adventure photography has aided in our ability to creatively incorporate surrounding landscapes into our images. But most importantly, we capture the moments.
