Calgary family photography

September 30, 2010

After a rather disappointing summer (weather wise) the colour of the trees seems to have changed overnight. Fall has arrived and brought golden sunshine, warm breezes and a ton of photography bookings. We’ll be updating our blog fairly regularly over the next few weeks as we spend our days and evening’s capturing the beautiful and authentic smiles of families and kids enjoying this long overdue nice weather. Last weekend we spent a dazzling afternoon with a great family in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. If only all children (including my own) were as easy and cooperative as this sweet little girl. We had a great time capturing her bright smile and overflowing energy. Here are a few of our favourite images from that afternoon. Enjoy!

Photos from Nate and Sarah’s Mount Norquay, Banff Wedding

September 18, 2010

“What can we say. When we first began researching photographers, there was a lot to consider, but from the moment we were invited into their home, we knew Lanny and Erika were just who we wanted. Two-MannTent are not only professionals, they are artists with skill, natural talent, passion and a drive for what they do. These photographs are testament to how Two-MannTent are incredible at their craft. They represent the product of a team who communicate with their clients. Lanny and Erika mold themselves to who you are and what you want. We will never be able to express our gratitude for these memories and we feel honored that they captured our special day. If you are ever presented with the opportunity to work with Two-MannTent, our strong recommendation is to say YES! You will be delighted with the experience. It was the best decision we made in planning our entire wedding. Thank you Two-MannTent!” - Bride and Groom

From the moment Lanny and I arrived at Sarah and Nate’s Banff wedding, we ‘picked up’ on a beautiful and intense energy. Everyone present was so genuinely happy for the bride and groom. Even the weather gods and mother nature did their part and, as if communicating their approval, held back a major cold front which ultimately pushed through mere hours after signing their nuptials. And it hasn’t warmed up since.  Their wedding was speckled with fabulous little romantic details. One of which was the unique and interesting way in which Nate and Sarah chose to collect the love and energy from their guests. As relatives and friends arrived, they filed past a small, red wooden boat containing smooth river rocks. Each guest selected a rock to hold onto during the ceremony and then return to the boat afterwards. These rocks will be an everlasting reminder of the love and support that Nate and Sarah’s loved ones have for them.  Lanny and I feel incredibly privileged to have taken part in such a beautiful and special day. Here are few of our favourite images.

Aaron and Natalie’s Buffalo Mountain Lodge, Banff Wedding

September 11, 2010

Aaron and Natalie’s Banff Wedding took place at the quaint and beautiful Buffalo Mountain Lodge. After exchanging vows, we spent the afternoon outdoors capturing their authentic smiles in fields of golden grass, alongside reflective lakes, and amidst the majestic peaks of the Canadian Rockies. The spectacular scenery undoubtably leant itself to amazing images, but the true magic of the shots came from the bride and groom themselves. Relaxed, fun and game for anything in the name of good times and good photography, Aaron and Natalie were a pleasure to shoot.

    Hi Erika and Lanny;
    These are amazing photos. Definitely a great couple who are game for anything. And you have done a great shot of communicating through the pictures just how much fun these folks are and how much they love one another. I especially like the photos of them lying in the grass. They are very sweet and tender. So many amazing shots in this group it will be hard to pick out a few. I love it.

Michelle and Chris’ Calgary Wedding Celebration

September 8, 2010

After getting married down in the Caribbean, Chris and Michelle held a wedding celebration for their friends and family at the Westen Hotel, in Calgary. Wedding photography for Lanny and I, is all about capturing ‘moments’ between the bride and groom. Chris and Michelle made this task very easy for us. Their energy, zest for life, and love for one another was a joy for us to observe though our camera lenses. But more importantly, they had the absolute best candy table we’ve ever seen! Thanks again Chris and Michelle, for letting us take part in your beautiful celebration of life and love!

    Wow. Again. You guys are really good at capturing the love. Hard to get those moments. Don’t know how you do that but they are lovely to look at. Your photos communicate a genuine sense of how these folks feel about one another. Well done.
